Affirming Counseling for QTBIPOC

I offer a non-judgmental, compassionate, encouraging environment to assist you through whatever situations you may be confronting. In session, we collaboratively explore tools and strategies to help you feel better about yourself, have better relationships, and experience more joy.

My approach is eclectic, intersectional, and integrative. I utilize a combination of evidence-based techniques and traditional talk therapy. My work is rooted in an affirming, open-minded, strength-based framework. I operate from an anti-oppression, anti-racist,  trauma-informed/healing-centered, harm-reduction, and social justice lens.

My services are offered exclusively via secure telemental health. Each session is 50 minutes. For New York State residents I do accept the following insurances: Aetna, Anthem (Blue Cross Blue Shield), Oxford, Oscar, and United health insurance. I do not currently accept any Medicaid plans.

About Me

As a trained social worker and full-spectrum doula, I am passionate about supporting and caring for people across the full spectrum of life experiences.

My background in community organizing and my identity as a first-generation queer Afro-Latina neurodivergent femme have a strong influence on my practice.

In my work, I strive to foster a culture that trusts people's agency and their inherent strength to make the best decisions for themselves. I decided to start working full-time in private practice in 2017 when trying to find a therapist for myself who was a queer person of color. During this time I realized there weren't many  Black and Latinx therapists who were accessible and affirming. Now there are more of us, yet still not enough.

I received my MSW from Hunter College in 2014.
